I work with a non-profit in Milwaukee Wisconsin that helps people who have lost money to exactly the kind of company known as Mortgage Relief Group, Inc.; SBC Financial Group Inc., or NRG Payments Inc. All owned by Brian Pacios.
The company is violating the California law first and foremost by demanding payment up front. Since October 2009, there has been a law in California that prohibits that except for HUD certified home counseling agencies.
One of my clients lost $2500 to this scammer and the companies are out of business.
I am going to file a complaint with the Loan Modification Scam Prevention Network They track trends and do not work on individual cases. Best anyone can do.
I always check to see if any of the owners or staff are attorneys and if they are then I file a complaint with the State Bar of California. It takes a long time for the Bar to conclude any investigation. Brian is not an attorney.
For anyone who has the time it might be useful to try to track down Brian Pacios and let the police know where he is. Unfortunately, the police are swamped with complaints about these businesses. The Brian Pucios of the world just go on scamming people.
I see there is no way to choose no stars which is what this company deserves.
