I am 44 years old and was diagnosed by my surgeon in florida as needing an immediate Total Hip Replacement on my right hip. I had no insurance that would cover the $71K price tag in the states so I decided to contact a number of companies I had read about
in a magazine article regarding medical tourism outside the states. As soon as I spoke to the Planet Hospital representative, I knew they were the company I was looking for. They were the only company willing to answer all my questions given to me by my primary
care physician. Not only that, but they had the surgeon who would perform the surgery on the phone with me that same evening. He explained the whole procedure in detail and made me feel extremely comfortable during a terrible time in my life, not being able
to walk without the assistance of a walker had become a burden. I have always been an avid hunter, fisherman and competed in various college contact sports, now I was faced with the possibility of never walking again. My trip started by flying in to San Diego,
where I was greeted by my personal concierge who shuttled me to a Mexicali hospital just steps from the US border. My entire experience in Mexico was nothing but pleasant. My surgery was a success, the hospital and nursing care was outstanding, not to mention
my physical therapist was excellent. After departing the hospital I arrived at my hotel, where I spent the remainder of my stay. The room accomodations were spectacular, handicap rails, a spacious shower and even a view of one of the resort's many beatiful
pools. My physical therapist would arrive every day promptly at 11:00am. Any assistance I needed was provided by a traveling nurse from the hospital that required only a phone call to respond. When it came time to head back to the states my driver arrived,
giving me plenty of time to check in at the airport in San Diego for my departing flight back to Florida. I cannot stress enough how Planet Hospital made such a difficult time in my life so much easier. My hip is fully recovered and I am back to all my normal
activities. I am once again hunting, fishing, biking and working without any restrictions. In a nutshell, I saved somewhere in the ballpark of $50K, and without any hesitation I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
