Pearl Earring Broke after wearing it only five times

I purchased earrings for my wife. She loved to wear them but the sixth time she went to wear them the pearl fell off the post. The company has offered to fix it for free but I am responsible for shipping it to them. Considering this is going to Los Angeles from Florida I just don't trust that I may get the pearls back. IMO the mounting of the pearls is shoddy at best. I will never buy from them again. Go with a trusted brand like Tiffany or buy locally.
