I contacted this company after finding out that a relative inmate in MO could not call me collect on my landline due to a block.
I contacted my landline service provider (Centurytel) who verified that I had no blocks on my line.
PCS had blocked my number so that the inmate could not call my home until I had called PCS to "verify" so they could collaborate with my personal service provider to share a percentage of the collect call fees.
The PCS customer service rep stated they would check my phone line to ensure my loved one could place collect calls. It has been many days and I have not received any collect calls.
My loved one speaks to someone from another state with another account set up and I know they are trying to contact me to no avail.
How is this legal?
If I choose to accept a collect call, that is my business. How can a company interfere and profit from this? I am a relative not in the prison system who is being punished because of what I consider to be their sneaky practices.
