I lost my job back in May of 2009, and I was falling behind in my mortgage payments. I paid Imperial Debt Settlement Inc about $4,000 to help out with a loan modification with Bank of America. Initially I went through all the paper work (i.e., bank statements, payroll stubs, hardships, etc) and submitted all of this. After months of waiting, I didn't get any follow ups of what was happening. I was told that I was close to getting a settlement. Waited again with no results. I called the bank myself, and I was told they had no work from Imperial on any type of loan modification. I called Imperial and they told me that because I had called the bank that I messed things up and would need to resubmit all my paper work again. As of a few days ago which is May 10 of 2010, I was asked to resubmit my papers again. Luckily a couple of weeks ago, I contacted Bank of America and started the loan modification program myself. In short, after about 9 months of this loan modification with Imperial, I have no results and I'm out $4,000. Any suggestion from anyone on how I can recover my money would greatly be appreciated.
