We paid in full for the "Eiffel tower luxury penthouse apartment" at 3 rue Raffet in November, our lease was for Jan 22 until March 26th - 9 weeks. I emailed them several times asking for information and the first time I called and asked why I wasn’t getting any response I was told that David Roth no longer worked there - the women I spoke with "Vickie" said she would send me the information right away. Nothing came - I called them and again spoke to Vickie and asked why the dates were not blocked out on Cyber rental or VRBO for this apartment. My answer was that they don't update them. She said she would forward me the entry instructions. Never came - finally I sent an email saying I felt very uneasy about this rental and if there is a problem to please let us know. Got back an email from Vickie saying she was sorry but she was just plain busy. I told her on the phone and in an email that we were not going to have internet access from Jan 16th until the we arrived in Paris on the 22nd,so I needed this information.
At 11 pm on the 16th we received an email saying the apartment was not available because the elevator was being replaced and because the apartment was on the 9th floor they were offering us another place to stay. In essence we were going from a luxury one bedroom to a budget studio!! We called immediately and spoke to Peter (the ceo)- I explained to him that for a nine week stay the apartment he was offering us was not suitable - a bar fridge and 2 burners. We drove to Paris the next day and went to 3 rue Raffet - I personally spoke to the concierge and 2 tenants - none of them were aware of any problems with the elevator and the concierge knew of no upcoming maintenance. We emailed the good news to Peter and he then said there was no internet and the clothes dryer didn't work, the owner is a senior citizen and is going to sell the apartment so doesn't want to put any money into it. It went on from here and he wanted us to sign another “AS IS” lease. The whole thing is a scam – they get you into a nice apartment and then all of the sudden, just before you get there it is not available and they offer you what they have!! This is not the first time this has happened with this company as I find out from doing some research here and other sites, The company also operates under the name Imarketers. There are tons of reputable Paris apartment rental agencies so stay away from this company. Luckily we were able to rearrange our schedule and after spending 24 hours on the internet have landed in a beautiful apartment in the Marais.
RUN AWAY FROM USAPARIS -Don't WALK RUN they are scam artists -
I got an email from David ( who doesn't work there any longer) saying the money would be credited to my visa.

Business's response - by Peter v.on 3/3/2010

We have tried all our best to accomodate this customer's very difficult requirements (very low budget, 60 pound dog, huge refrigerator to store the dog food), unfortunately without success.
The reality here is simpler: technical issues came up with the apartment originally booked, so they were offered a nicer and luxurious and large 1 bedroom apartment near the Eiffel Tower, newly renovated.
For those who want to know "the other side" of their story. The reference is 2P_LA_MOTTEPICQUET.
They insisted to stay at the first apt. against our advice, so we offered them to inspect thoroughly the apt. upon arrival, possibly stay for one day and then sign an "AS IS" disclaimer. This is just a legitimate request.
Customers declined this last offer and we processed their refund immediately.
Because we are dealing with thousand of bookings yearly, it is impossible to avoid unhappy customers, out of the numbers.
We are working hard to try to accomodate our customers and make their Parisian experience as enjoyable as possible, as reflected by the hundreds of positive feedbacks all over the major vacation rental websites.
