I have been a Gamefly member for just over a year now and I have been quite happy with their service until just about 3-4 months ago. Out of the blue it suddenly started being a problem getting games shipped after my account was credited with the previous games return and when I would send multiple games back at one time they would send one here and another a few days later, sometimes taking 6-8 days in total to ship all games despite the GameQ being filled with more then enough games labeled as being in stock and available for shipping. Numerous emails to the company have gone either unanswered and answered with generic statements reminding me to do what I am already doing, keeping enough titles in my GameQ to cover any rentals I am asking for. Phone calls to customer service result in the same answers, if I can get someone to answer a phone. I think this was a great company and they treated me very well but it seems that once they knew I was not going anywhere else I fell by the wayside while they try to court new customers. Being one of the few online game rental companies they have a captive audience but they have a lot to learn in my opinion if they want to keep their fan base loyal. All I am asking is that when I return my games they do as our contract states they will do, ship the next game ASAP. I know if I did not live up to my end of the contract they would cancel my account, seems someone forgot that deal works both ways.
I will continue to maintain my account for now and hopefully this will be resolved soon but I am not going to give them much longer before I reduce my account to one game at a time or cancel it outright.
As for purchasing a game, no place on the web has a better price for them but again if you buy a game you have at home it can be several days before they credit your GameQ with the sale and send the next one. All I want is the service I was promised for the money I pay. Nothing more.
