Review 8/19/2009
|
On August 8,2009 my car was towed from an apartment complex in Rialto CA. Previously the security officer had informed me that security writes the visitors license plate number and makes a copy for the towing company to know who is allowed to be there. After security signed me in as a visitor and wrote down my license plate number for my car not to get towed, the towing company still towed my car. I researched the towing company before picking up my car and found a lot of suites and horrible reviews that you can check for yourself at the following website:

since it is illegal for towing companies to only charge cash, I went to pick up my car trusting the fact that I can pay with my card. Considering the fact that I received bad customer service, bad directions, and a couple of intentional hang ups I remained calm. When I got the towing place I went straight to the door where a young lady was standing behind. I couldn't see her since the door was a metal screen door in which I heard girls giggling but I couldn't see them (scary). It was no surprise after reading all the bad reviews that she would say "cash only" and sure enough she did followed by an unacceptable excuse; she had said the machine was broken since the morning which by that time was already evening. I knew they would try to scam therefore I called a sheriff. After they found out I contacted the police one of the employee was willing to take the card which I'm guessing that the credit card machine MIRACULOUSLY started working again. I just don't know how a company like Cortez can be allowed to run a business so illegally.
