Review 5/18/2011

I signed up for Bally Total fitness is 2001. It was quite pricy, but I figured since I signed a contract I would stick to it. When my three year membership expired, I didn't renew. For a while I would receive renewal notices and at one point it ended up being fairly cheap to pay for a year. I did this off and on since then. In may 2010, I paid for a year renewal to expire April 2011. By March 2011, I decided not to renew since I just reenrolled in school and it was hard to make it there. Plus my boyfriend bought some exercise equipment that is in my home. In March 2011, I got a notification from Bally's stating they needed my new expiration date from my capital one card for my automatic renewal. First of all, I never signed up for automatic renewal. So I called on 3/9/11 and spoke with Kate who kept trying to get me to save the membership. She asked if I had a friend or family to transfer it to. I told her sorry, but I like my friends and family and wouldn't do that to them. I was not going to renew, no matter what. Today, I checked my credit card statement and they charged my card! This shocked me since I kept getting renewal notices since March. So I logged onto Bally and was suprised to see that not only did they charge my card illegally, they didn't even post the payment to the account! The last payment posted was 5/10/10. It even shows that if I want to renew, I must pay $504 now.
