My experience with this company is 50/50. I originally was contacted by 21st Century regarding my home loan. I had suffered some family problems that drained my expenses. I had to work part time instead of full time because I had surgery recently and could not work full time. This impacted my income very much. I tried working with my lender, but they would only offer temporary assistance...I was looking for something that would help me in the long run. I originally signed up in December of 2008. They told me the process would take 3 months, I had to meet with a notary who would collect some needed documents, as well as 3 checks.
My home started going into default, and it was a very scary process for me. I did not want my home to be taken away from me. 21st Century reassured me that everything would be taken care of.
After the 3 month process, my loan was still not modified. It was very hard for me to get into contact with anyone at their offices. I was always redirected to their processing office...good luck getting anyone to answer your questions there! It was always hard to get in contact with my "processor"...whoever I was assigned to never picked up their phone, I had to always leave a message. I just wanted simple updates of what was going on with my loan! They would rarely call back from the messages I left.
It took 7 months for them to modify my loan. I received a new contract from my lender on the 7th month. It was a 3.8%! I had a 7% interest rate with my lender before this ordeal. 21st Century had told me I would be receiving a 4%. I saved about 300$ per month off my mortgage, and I had gone 7 months without making a payment to my lender.
Once it was all over, I was very pleased with my results. They completed their side of the deal, even though it took longer than expected. 21st Century exceeded my expectations regarding what my new rate would be. I just hope they would offer better customer service regarding updating me on what was going on with my loan.
